Big News for 2016/17!
We are super-stoked to announce that BONEFIGHT is now officially operating in association with the All Terrain Skate Cross Federation – ATSX!
- ATSX are the top authority in downhill skate sports worldwide and they are responsible for overseeing Red Bull Crashed Ice and the Riders Cup – and now BONEFIGHT, too!
- BONEFIGHT as a result, is now part of a prestigious world governing sports body – like Ice Hockey has the IIHF and the Olympics has the IOC. Being part of ATSX gives extra prestige and credibility to the judging and the awards themselves, plus extra exposure to a wider audience.
- It also means BONEFIGHT joins an awesome global family of downhill skaters – including big stars from the Riders Cup and Crashed Ice. Being part of this family makes it possible to have more races – big and small – through the ATSX worldwide network of partners. Some of these fixtures will see BONEFIGHT, the Riders Cup and Red Bull Crashed Ice coming together for a mega-event, meaning bigger crowds and bigger parties!
For anyone unfamiliar with the Riders Cup and Red Bull Crashed Ice, I want to say that I competed in the Riders Cup myself: I can tell you that I was dead scared and thought my last hour had come! I am an average level hockey player and not an expert on hockey skates; if I did not have my experience from Sled Dogs, I would never have reached the end of the Riders Cup course!
For any hockey players reading this, Sled Dogs Snowskates and BONEFIGHT is the natural starting place to transfer your skate skills to winter downhill skating because the Riders Cup is more specialised and super scary while Red Bull Crashed Ice is just totally sick! Probably some of the best and bravest BONEFIGHT champions will go on to compete in the Riders Cup and even Red Bull Crashed Ice, with a live TV audience and possible sponsorship deals – now we are part of the family it’s all there for the taking!
All the best,
Laszlo Karsai – BONEFIGHT Manager
