Jar-Pekka Rahkonen sets new speed record on Sled Dogs Snowskates

Downhill Daredevil Jar-Pekka Rahkonen from Finland has set a new world speed record for snowskating. Following weeks of preparation at a specially chosen slope in Salla, Lapland, the Hockey-player clocked an eye-watering 115.27km/hr on Sled Dogs Snowskates.

To put that in perspective, Rahkonen went faster than the highway speed limit in most countries …on skates with a surface area of only around 40 sq cm …on snow. It does beg the question: with balls that big, how does he manage to sit down? And it surely puts the ‘can you go fast on Sled Dogs Snowskates’ question to bed, once and for all! (that doesn’t mean you should go out and try going this fast on your snowskates ..seriously: don’t – it’s crazy!)

But it does show how well the kit performs at the most extreme levels – once again proving the reliability, controllability, and all-round snow-worthiness of Sled Dogs Snowskates.

Rahkonen’s new record puts him ahead of Icelandic veteran Snowskater Ingi Freyr Sveinbjörnsson, who held the previous record of 113km/h.
