Community College Rolls Out Red Carpet for BONEFIGHT in Canada
If there is one event on the Sled Dogs calendar which really captures that special Sled Dogs Family feeling, it has to be the New Brunswick BONEFIGHT: We’ve had fantastic hospitality from all the countries we’ve visited but in New Brunswick, it really feels like the entire local community want to work hard to put on a great show.
The local community college is a fantastic example of this team spirit and generosity. Campbellton Campus (CCNB) is a community college that offers more than 15 programs, mainly in French, in the fields of health care, community services, trades, academic studies, and natural sciences.
More than 50 volunteers from the CCNB, including students, staff members and Alumni association members, contributed to the success of the BONEFIGHT for a second year in a row in March 2018. For example, the carpentry program built the starting gates, the woodworking program designed and fabricated the trophies and the dental assistance students volunteered for the infamous athletes’ dinner.
The CCNB – Campbellton Campus team is highly involved in the community and clearly takes pride in helping to put together an amazing event that brings great visibility and tourists to the beautiful Restigouche area. CCNB would like to thank Mr. Greg Dion, General Manager and the Sugarloaf Provincial Park team for their great collaboration!
Similarly, everyone here at Sled Dogs Snowskates would like to express our gratitude on behalf of the international snowskating community, to principal Suzanne Beaudoin (pictured below, in white) and all the volunteers from CCNB who have made this such a positive and welcoming event and a credit to New Brunswick!
